Emerging Artist Theatre Company presents a double-decker workshop of two new plays running in rotating repertory:
The Night of the Bean Snake by Jonathan Reuning is a mind bending drawing room thriller-comedy set in the contrasting worlds of Victorian High Society and West End Theatrical Riff Raff. After the sudden death of her wealthy husband, the play?s brave young heroine, Joan Davenport, begins a surreal and treacherous journey to fend off a brilliant and diabolical cell of thieves set on taking her inheritance.
Set in a run-down raunchy sports bar not unlike Hooters, Blind Corner by Bill McMahon, follows Tina and Yvette, two New Jersey waitresses, who have limited options in life. Things start to go awry when the manager, Larry, brings in a mysterious and strikingly beautiful woman, Cassandra, hoping to use her as sexual bait. Cassandra however proves to be more than Larry bargained for when she starts having fits in which she experiences both flashbacks and moments of prescience. The result is a shocking twist of fate that sweeps all the characters into its path.
