New York City
When the Viscount plans to adopt his wife as a niece, despite the protestations of her lover, the Baron, only a bizarre world like Ionesco?s does this seem a quite plausible idea in the eyes of the law. The Niece-Wife is directed by Nicole Lerario, and stars Peter B. Brown.
This short playlet is part of the 3-month long, citywide Ionesco Festival, dedicated to the French Aburdist, Eugene Ionesco. Random Arts Inc, a 2001 OOBR Award winning company, presents two of these short plays: The Niece Wife and Conversation Exercises #1-5. These playlets are part of 12 rotating ?Shorts? which serve as a unifying and unique characteristic of the Festival, in that every full length is matched with a different Short. All playlets rotate times and venues.
