About This Show

Alfred Uhry, author of Driving Miss Daisy, is back with his 1997 Tony award-winning comedy. The Last Night of Ballyhoo concerns the same upper-class Jewish characters as his earlier play — in fact, the family of her son’s wife. The setting is Atlanta, December 1939. Hitler is invading Poland and Gone With the Wind is premiering, but the elite Jewish families of Atlanta are far more concerned with Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. After all, the Freitag family must find escorts for their daughter. Rod Kaats directs.
