About This Show

The new comedy-drama The Germans In Paris, an Immediate Theater Company production directed by Jose Zayas and written by Jonathan Leaf, is set in Paris in 1843. Two young and unknown political radicals – one a 25-year old Karl Marx, the other the young composer Richard Wagner – have befriended Germany’s most famous living writer, Heinrich Heine.

Heine tries to mentor the two men while avoiding a pair of angry husbands, a demand that he duel, a request that he marry and a government investigation Loosely based on actual events, this imaginative and witty play looks at the birth of the Communist intelligentsia and the early lives of two famous artistes and one famous revolutionary.
