The Cripple of Inishmaan
$25.00; $15.00 student
HERE presents The Cripple Of Inishmaan, by Martin McDonagh.
A side-splitting and moving comedy in which a small Irish island’s dreams and secrets come to light when a Hollywood director comes to film nearby.
Presented by The NOLA Project, continuing a Katrina-interrupted run in New Orleans as a benefit for damaged arts institutions. Floating on a small fleet of set pieces with lighting plots for sails, The NOLA Project refugee theatre company tacked and jibed its way up to the Big Apple with a mission: to raise money for the damaged New Orleans Center for Creative Arts|Riverfront, an amazing public fine arts high school in New Orleans.
The Cripple of Inishmaan focuses on the starry-eyed ambitions and painful past of young Cripple Billy when he learns of the filming of Robert Flaherty’s (real) documentary Man of Aran. James Tripp directs.
Performances begin: May 10, 2024
