New York City
In April, SALT will present its “movable feast” production of The Cherry Orchard. Performed in galleries, raw space, an apartment and a tv studio (!), the whole production – sets, costumes, lights and props – collapses into trunks fitting into two NYC taxicabs (not including the 13 actors or the dog). About the only place it won’t perform is in a theater. It’s a play about displacement, family, real estate and change – so isn’t New York the perfect backdrop for this rootless, wandering event? Emma Griffin directs.
