Teatro La Tea and Artificio present The Butterfly’s Evil Spell, by Federico García Lorca. Described as “…innovating and captivating from its first presentation…”, the play is the first written by the Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca. It is a story of a passionate love with an unsettling culmination. Composed with the uninhibited voice of a 21-year-old Lorca , the story develops in a surreal world populated by insects, where Death disguises itself as Love and Poetry materializes before the eyes of a young man in love. The production creates a delicate ensemble of costumes, sets, music and choreography, communicating the importance of following our passions and presenting Art as a necessity and a redemptive force. It is a subtly mysterious tale, a tribute to Lorca at his finest.
