About This Show

Following the passion of two aspiring ballroom dancers in 1911 New York, Syncopation is a touching, funny play about a partnership and the breaking of society’s chains through art. Allen Knee’s play is set during the transition from Victorian to modern society in America–a raw, experimental time that saw important breakthroughs in the arts, including ballroom dancing which allowed men and women to dance together.
