The company that brought you last year’s tastiest theatrical experience, Innocent When You Dream, again tantalizes mouth and mind with Sweet Pushes, Tangy Pulls, written by Andrew Frank, and directed by Erin Brindley. Food Designed by Chef Coleman Foster and Pastry Chef Yoko Paker. Complimentary four-course meal and wine
With Sweet Pushes, Tangy Pulls, Chef Coleman Foster continues his effort to tell a story with taste as his four courses follow five characters in their search for satiation. Foster and writer Andrew Frank use the basics of flavor: sweet, salty, tangy, and bitter, to explore the human appetite for stability, love, sex, acceptance, and forgiveness. Over the course of five scenes, audiences are served each of the four dishes, (such as Coconut Tomato Soup with Toasted Mustard Seeds and Curry Popcorn), which inform and reflect the stories on stage, through their flavors and textures, creating a full sensory experience.
