About This Show

Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc. presents an unusual Noël Coward double bill:

Act I: Still Life
In a suburban British railway station, where time is suspended and almost anything can happen, three evocative love stories evolve from the hopeful spring of 1936 into that lonely and desolate winter. This haunting one-act play was later adapted by Noël Coward into the legendary film, Brief Encounter.

Act II: Cafe Coward
A 1930s Cabaret Tribute to the words and music of Noël Coward conjures up a lost world of tuneful sophistication. Join Noël Coward and his celebrity guests – The Lunts, Bea Lillie, John Mills, Violet Coward, Charles “Cookie” Cochran, Gertrude Lawrence, Tallulah Bankhead, Cole Porter and Elsa Maxwell – then boast, “I’ve Been to a Marvelous Party!” The sardonic, sentimental, wicked and wistful songs include “I’ll See You Again,” “Mad About the Boy,” “Someday I’ll Find You,” “If Love Were All,” “Twentieth Century Blues,” “Nina,” “Why Must the Show Go On?,” “Matelot,” “You Were There,” and that elegantly bawdy Coward/Cole Porter collaboration, “Let’s Do It!”
