Sourcing Stravinsky

With Igor Stravinsky as their guide, six choreographers — Yvonne Rainer, Cynthia Hopkins, Dayna Hanson and Linas Phillips, David Neumann, Rennie Harris — create five completely different responses to the composer and his music in Sourcing Stravinsky, curated by Annie-B Parsons.

Also presenting a rare new work, Yvonne Rainer takes on Balanchine’s Agon in “AG Indexical, with a little help from H.M.” mixing the Stravinsky with Henry Mancini’s Pink Panther theme in an all-female quartet. In Tsimtsum, Cynthia Hopkins uses original songs, text and movement to recreate an unfinished opera by Stravinksy and DYlan Thomas. Dayna Hanson and Linas Phillips examine both Stravinsky’s life and American homelessness in “Track 11”, which features Phillip’s video design.
