Shrug Like You Mean It

Sex, Drugs & Rock n’ Roll in Iambic pentameter! Third Man Productions presents the New York City premiere of Joel Jones’s Shrug Like You Mean It.

In the tradition of Shakespearean lovers comedies, Shrug Like You Mean It entwines disguise, eastern mediation, lover swapping, a wacky hitman and espionage into a comic opus of hysterical proportions. Written in harrowing verse the story follows Eddy Bender, a 1970’s rock star stricken with unrequited love. Eddy renounces his rock n’ roll throne, hurling his associates and fans into a tailspin. A caper ensues on a sham ashram erected by Eddy’s entourage to cajole the moping Bender back to the spotlight.
