About This Show

ONE THING WILL PULL THEM TOGETHER OR TEAR THEM APART

Written by Atlanta playwright Pamela Parker, this comical and touching play about life and friendships is set in the rural Georgia town of Second Samuel during the summer of 1949. It is a time when everyone’s glass is half full; the women get their hair done at Omaha Nebraska’s Beauty Shop and the men drink at the local bar. The young and simple-minded B-Flat takes the audience on a tour of his town, introducing us to characters who must deal with the unexpected and come to grips with the most unusual circumstances. Although “diversity” might not have been a part of the vocbualry in 1949, it certainly found a place in the heart of Second Samuel.

If you liked Steel Magnolias and remember the values of Our Town you will love Second Samuel.
