About This Show

Arron Wendel presents Seasons, an evening of dance expressing the changing seasons our souls endure in this journey called life. The program includes an eclectic mix of music and movement that engages the audience’s spirit and resonates with emotion. Two of the six dances focus on the seasons as a whole. “Vista”, set to a lyrical score for strings by Mark O’Connor, centers on hope inspired by the act of remembering. “That’s Life”, set to Frank Sinatra’s familiar tune of the same name, is full of fun determination revealing the desire to persevere through the seasons. “Chaos”, choreographed to an original, commissioned score by New York Composer Alf Bishai, expresses the transitional season of fall by filling the space with an anxiety that becomes playful. Discovery, depression, stillness, and joy emanate from the dancers as they alternate between intricate patterns and expansive phrases throughout the remaining three dances, which use music by Sigur-Ros, Arvo Part, and Lo’Jo.
