This modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic takes place in a crumbling city where the hatred between two families erupts and threatens to take down society itself. Rob Barron’s adaptation connects the problems of the past with those of the present: the rapture of true love; the threat of urban violence and family conflicts; and the inevitable tragedy that results from miscommunication.
