About This Show

THEATREWORKS/USA, the nation’s foremost not-for-profit professional theatre for young people and their families, presents the acclaimed production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet as part of their new teen series. This modern interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic takes place in a crumbling city where the hatred between two families erupts and threatens to take down society itself. Rob Barron’s adaptation connects the problems of the past with those of the present: the rapture of true love; the threat of urban violence and family conflicts; and the inevitable tragedy that results from miscommunication.

Recommended for ages 12 and up.
