About This Show

Fires blaze through the main street of a small-town. As the local church, firehouse and hospital burn, a community stands helpless. Suddenly, thunder booms, the sky opens up and sheets of rain wash over the burning block extinguishing the fires. No one is hurt. In the aftermath of this supposed miracle, an abandoned librarian, his imaginative stepdaughter and her restless mother, a doctor, a firewoman, and a local teenager struggle to negotiate their place in a town that has changed. Across the country, a cynical heiress reads a five-sentence article about the bizarre event, cancels all appointments and rushes on a plane to be there.

Funny, lyrical, and strikingly honest, S.L. Daniels’ Rain, River, Ice, Steam won the prestigious Illinois Arts Council Award in 2001. This production is directed by Kimberly I. Kefgen and produced by Six Figures Theatre Company.

There is an added performance Monday April 21 at 8:00pm.

There will be a Six Figures Benefit performance Sunday April 27 from 2-5 PM. $25 Ticket includes show, silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, and special performances by Six Figures artists.
