About This Show

When a young soldier is ordered to take advantage of a suffering man for the greater good of his country, he struggles to do the right thing. Torn between allegiance to his army and compassion for a fellow human being, he is soon faced with one of the hardest decisions of his life. Philoctetes is a strikingly-intimate Greek tragedy that explores timeless questions of human rights, chronic illness, and wartime ethics. This rarely produced play explores the moral ambiguity of war in stark, personal relief.

Philoctetes is being presented as part of the Impact Festival.
