About This Show

The New Stage Theatre Company is proud to present the world premiere of Night, or Thyestes 2.0, a movement theatre piece written by Charles L. Mee and directed and designed by Ildiko Nemeth. Inspired by Seneca’s Thyestes, the piece combines sections of the classic tale with an equally dark modern vision. A whirlwind of vivid scenes bridges the torture, murder and cannibalism dogging ill-fated Tantalus to modern plagues both frightening and banal, from war crimes to YouTube vapidity. In this world premiere performance, The New Stage Theatre Company brings its bold mix of standout choreography, video projection, costuming, lighting and sound to Mee’s rhapsodic vision, resulting in a night of dazzlingly disorienting theatre.
