Mister

Mister centers on Jon, a recent Yale grad, as he naively begins his first year teaching in an inner-city high school. Shaken by how rough his students are, he finds solace in Alissa, the older sister of one of his students. When a student is murdered, Jon is implicated. Soon, a media frenzy embroils the school, community, and politicians, threatening to rip apart the relationship between Jon and Alissa. The musical features Rent stars Anthony Rapp as Jon and Yassmin Alers as Alissa, with
Tony-nominee Joel Blum and Sesame Street star Carlo Alban in supporting roles. Music and lyrics are written by Tony Vellela.
