New York City
In this dark comedy about faith, justice, and morality we watch what happens when the law is not all it seem to be. The city of Vienna is plagued by excess and indulgence. The neglectful ruler, Duke Vincentio, determined to root out the cause of his city’s sickness abandons his position to observe his people, disguised as one of them. He leaves his city in the hands of Angelo a man reputed for his unfeeling justice. In the Duke’s absence Angelo transforms Vienna into a rigid police state, rigorously enforcing laws which make the private lives of the citizens open to public scrutiny and moral judgement. But when those in power change their habits who is truly affected? With live music and a twisted sense of humor an ensemble of eight actors delves into Underling Production’s Measure for Measure.
