About the Show
Awash in a salty milieu of fishermen and labor/temperance activists, in 1908, parallel loves stories are threatened. Marina, loves Angus, but because of unresolved grief over her son’s death, she refuses his proposal of marriage. . Meanwhile, Filipino cannery engineer, Emilio, falls in love with the winsome Caucasian daughter of the cannery manager. Mama objects, but when the “Star of Bengal,” (a floating cannery) sinks, Emilio and Angus are heros. Love triumphs.
Marina is presented as part of the NYMF 2012 festival.
