About the Show

Mankynde, the postmodern medieval musical based on the biggest hit of the fifteenth century, makes its New York premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival. Book by Julie Crosby, music by Nancy Magarill, lyrics by Nancy Magarill and Julie Crosby, and direction by Louis Scheeder.

In this wickedly funny and demonic show, good confronts evil, liberals battle conservatives, intellectuals combat illiterates, and playgoers decide who wins the heart and mind of Mankynde. Yes, the original fifteenth century drama is now a musical mix of Election 2004 and TV’s Fear Factor, proving that the great moral issues facing the world half a millenia ago still deserve ridicule today.
