Synapse Productions presents Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal. The show is based loosely on the 1927 Snyder/Gray love-triangle murder which handed out the first electric chair execution to a woman. This drama traces the life of Helen Jones–mother and wife–who tackles life in urban America, and ends up an adulterer and murderer, which ultimately leads to her destruction in a world that is dominated primarily by men and machines.
