About This Show

Live in 2003 is a new works reading series that celebrates the contemporary voice of living playwrights. The artist community remains one of the most vocal American groups to boldly explore, challenge, and create uncensored dialogue on current social and human rights facing our culture. The series provides an ongoing forum for this artistic voice and features readings of new works by living playwrights Bill C. Davis (Mass Appeal), Mario Fratti (Nine), Arlene Hutton, Arnie Johnston & Debbie Percy, and Le Wilhelm.

The series runs from May to December 2003.

Monday, July 14 @ 5:00pm
Playwright Arlene Hutton presents her new play Academia, featuring Mason Adams as Mac. Directed by David DeBeck, this group of one-act plays tackles professors and university life. The funny, the ironic, and the dark sides of the Ivory Tower are revealed in issues of disenchantment, sexual harassment, ageism, friendships, and family explored against a campus backdrop.
