About This Show

Written and directed by Rayka Kobiella, Life Is Overrated is a story about the search for a purpose in life and how it feels to lose one’s ambition to pursue it. On the quest of trying to make life meaningful and while seeking to retain independence of our own thoughts, we are faced with a myriad of good and bad advice from friends. There are decisions we are proud of and the ones we regret. Our inner voice is separated into many small voices; the angels, the devils and the in-betweens. When colliding, they can drive us crazy…

THE SHADES OF GRAY, founded by Miriam Ibrahim and Heidi Miller Smith in 2011, is a multi arts organization with the goal of exploring and honoring the “in between” of the common human experience. Using the tools of the expressive arts, we also aim to foster understanding and acceptance of those who stand on the very edges of society.

Life Is Overrated is part of Sorry For The Color – The Shades of Gray’s first Artist Exchange program – which included exhibitions of paintings by German artists Jonas Gerberding and Marcius Tan.
