About This Show

How can you continue to hold on to your ideals when you no longer believe in them; when you feel your very identity slipping away? That’s the question Professor Leopold Nettles must confront in Spring Theatreworks’ production of
Vaclav Havel’s riveting work Largo Desolato. Translated into English by Tom Stoppard, directed by Steven Gridley and based presumably on Mr. Havel’s (now president of the Czech Republic) own experiences, the play examines the eternal battle between the state and the individual.
