About This Show

Presented by Argentina’s Teatro Timbre 4, La Omisión de la Familia Coleman (The Coleman Family’s Omission) is a cutting-edge, dark comedy written and directed by Claudio Tolcachir about an eccentric family that gives voice to the contemporary Argentinian social experience. La Omisión is the winner of numerous Premio ACE Awards (Argentina’s Critics Award), including: Best Play, Best Direction, Best Off-Theater Production, Best Lead Actress, and Best Lead Actor.

Tolcachir developed the play through improvisations with a company of actors who met over the course of three months at the director’s home to explore the ties and contradictions of this eccentric and familiar family. The play continues to be performed in Tolcachir’s apartment for small audiences, who are required to ring buzzer #4 for admission – hence the naming of his theater company, Teatro Timbre 4 (Theater Buzzer #4). La Omisión is representative of the vibrant, experimental theater scene in Buenos Aires today.
