La MaMa E.T.C. presents Koliada: Winter Songs, by the Yara Arts Group based on winter songs from the Carpathian Mountains. For the past two winters, Yara’s director, Virlana Tkacz, has traveled to a village deep in the mountains and recorded ancient winter solstice rituals and songs. Yara’s new piece will feature work by Watoku Ueno, Andrea Odezynska and Alexander Khantaev.
