About This Show

The New Theater Company with A Crew of Patches will present a unique look at the Shakespeare tragedy of Julius Caesar. This vital work is given a twenty-first century view of an Elizabethan looking glass cast upon an ancient Roman world. Director Eric Cohen describes the production as “depicting a world in which the lives of the underprivileged are governed and affected by a privileged few, a social concept reminiscent of the kind of art and theater that came out of the WPA in the Great Depression. With its stark lighting, spare setting and diligent focus on the acting and the text, this is a show that will be conceptualized only in its simplicity.
