Soho ThinkTank and the Polish Cultural Institute present Pig Iron Theatre Company’s new work Hell Meets Henry Halfway by Adriano Shaplin, adapted from Polish author Witold Gombrowicz’s gothic novel Possessed. The piece has been commissioned by the Gombrowicz Centennial Festival in Lublin, Poland and is being presented in New York as a part of Gombrowicz Autumn.
A mad prince trapped in a tower with his furious secretary. An ailing doctor of alchemy obsessed with bodily fluids. And a tennis player and her coach who are slowly melting into the same person. Hell Meets Henry Halfway is a tournament of malcontents, a competition of deadly backhands and screaming tantrums in a battle to prove who cares the least while dressed in tennis whites.
Additional 2 PM performance on Sunday, November 14th and 21st, no evening performance on the 21st and an added performance Tuesday, November 16th.
