About This Show

Choreographers Shannon and Rob Davidson utilize their unique brand of sensual partnering and Buster Keaton meets Butoh style to explore the mystical side of their ethnic heritage. Inspired by Celtic Mythology, Grìos, KineticArchitecture’s latest evening-length dance theater work, will lead you on a journey through the land of Faerie where fantasy and reality merge. Gaelic for to encourage, incite, rake up a fire, Grìos offers up an artful twist to St. Patrick’s Day tradition, with luscious imagery as well as Irish beer to light your inner fire.

KineticArchitecture, a not-for-profit (501c3), professional dance company, is an energetic mix of modern dance, experimental and improvisational Theatre, and butoh, founded in 1994 by husband and wife team Rob & Shannon Davidson. Their choreography has been presented in New York at The 92nd Street Y, WAX, Dance Forum/NY, and Galapagos Artspace, among others, as well as throughout New Jersey and the Midwest.

The humor and satirical moments… were contrasted by both beauty and strength.” — Sara Juli, Curator, The Bridge/NY
