Clifford Odets’ Golden Boy is the story of Joe Bonaparte, a young first generation Italian boxer whose personal ambition is so intense it can either build a city – or burn it down. At the heart of Joe’s struggles is his doomed love affair with his manager’s girlfriend, another desperate figure trying to find compassion in the dark days of the Depression.
