An exploration of the perverse relationship between master and servant, Diary of a Chambermaid chronicles Celestine’s (slightly wicked) adventures as a maid for the wealthy Lanlaire family. Published in 1900 in the wake of the Dreyfus Affair in France, this story created a huge scandal among Victorian critics of its day and remains one of the most scathing and darkly humorous satires of modern society, politics and religion. Directed by Adrian Giurgea.
