About This Show

Written by award-winning composer/lyricist Jim Bauer, Dagmar picks up down the road a piece from where David Bowie and David Byrne travel in their theatricalized music adventures. Performed by six world-class musicians and fronted by vocalists Jim Bauer and Meghan McGeary (Hannah in The Blue Flower), there’s a surreal story cycling through the mountain-to-valley music arrangements about a guy who can’t get out of bed in the morning and a joyful goddess who plunges through the ether to rescue him. Dagmar, Muse of even The Muses, loves transmogrifying into extravagant invertebrates, insects mostly. Lucky for our hero in hiding, she’s up for just about anything, as long as it has more than four legs.

Dagmar’s debut performance was at Joe’s Pub in New York City in June 2005. Dagmar is:

guitar & vocals: JIM BAUER
flute & vocals: MEGHAN McGEARY
drums & percussion: DAVID ROZENBLATT
percussion & drums: PABLO RIEPPI
bass: MAT FIELDES
violin: JENNIFER CHOI
