New York City
One of Shakespeare?s less frequently performed plays, Cymbeline poses a conundrum ? is it a fairy tale, a history play, a cross-dressing Romance in the great Shakespearean tradition of As You Like It and Twelfth Night, or a tragedy of star crossed love? Under the direction of Gorilla Rep?s Founding Artistic Director, Christopher Carter Sanderson, this production is all of this and more. The magic and comedy of the play come to the fore in a production that moves at an ever increasing break-neck pace toward the final act in which, with a little help from the god Jupiter, all twenty-five subplots are resolved.
All performances are free and open to the public.
