The Boomerang Theatre Company presents Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding as part of its fall season. In this rarely performed piece, a woman who is to marry finds her life disrupted by the return of her old lover, a man she feels drawn to with an overwhelming need. Soon, the bride finds herself torn between the spiritual love of her husband-to-be and the physical desires from her past. Ultimately, she makes a decision which leads to tragedy, where the ultimate punishment is not death, but surviving to face the consequences of one’s action and the condemnation of society.
