About This Show

Below the Belt is a witty, fast-paced satire with all the backbiting, torment, and head-games that we all experience in the workplace. It is an absurdist caricature, where the need to connect with fellow workers does furious battle with the need to protect one’s tenuous position in the corporate food chain.

Dobbitt, the bright-eyed new arrival, Hanrahan, the bitter, disgruntled veteran; and their psychologically manipulative and possibly certifiable supervisor Merkin are low-level suits. They are checkers for an unnamed corporation that produces an unspecified product in a faraway, indeterminable country.

Below The Belt is a comedy that pulls no punches and hits where it hurts. City Theatre Company presents Richard Dresser’s play, directed by Jonathan Silverstein.
