About This Show

The 78th Street Theatre Lab presents Beanstalk Jacques, a one-man musical written and performed by Michael Orth.

The show tells the story of a boy from the Louisiana bayou, living in poverty after his father disappears in the swamp. But Jacques’ fortunes change when a beanstalk sprouts in the fertile mud of his back yard, and he finds himself headed for the Big House in the clouds. Along the way, Jacques encounters a dancing cow, a giantess named Big Blanche, a singing guitar who sounds like Elvis, and a golden-egg-laying chicken named Beulah.

The show is recommended for children ages 3-12.
