About This Show

Realized as one of the great playwrights and Jewish voices in American theatre, Clifford Odets’ Awake and Sing portrays the Berger family, an impoverished family pursuing the American dream in the Bronx, NY. Set in politically charged depression era 1933, the Berger parents scheme to manipulate their children’s relationships to their own view of a better future, as their children question, struggle, and strive for dreams of their own. Winner of multiple Drama Desk and Tony Awards.
