About This Show

In 1982, shortly before her death, Louise (Aunt Jack) Smartt tape-recorded
the stories of her life. Now Bill Smartt – Aunt Jack’s nephew – brings this ordinary woman’s extraordinary stories affectionately and humorously to life on the stage. Aunt Jack, conceived and performed by Bill Smartt, is directed by Tony Speciale.

Jack’s daring, whimsy and quirky view of life provide not only an enjoyable
evening of theater, but also speak to how an ordinary person becomes
extraordinary through their response to the challenges of their time. Bill Smartt shows us how a Southern girl used humor and pluck to survive and brighten some of the grimmest episodes of the 20th century.

A Route Three Production.
