Metro Clowns presents Another Cat and Another Moon at the New York International Fringe Festival. This reinterpretation of William Butler Yeats’ famous one-act Noh play, The Cat and the Moon takes take audiences on a theatrical adventure, exploring dramatic and comic aspects of life’s dilemmas through Yeats’ original text, augmented by interludes posing the same questions in the style and tradition of European theatrical clowning.
Two beggars have wandered together through Ireland. One is blind, the other is lame. They approach a sacred well of water, where Saint Colman is said to live. How should they ask for the Saint’s help? Will the Saint answer their prayers? Will they find fulfillment in what they receive? Are there costs or strings attached?
