Acclymation: A Play on Work & Life

About This Show

Globalization has happened! Our world has been diversified! Now more than ever, in a world where anyone can communicate their views through social media, we’re challenged to find ways to embrace our many differences. We must find ways to live together and be different, both in our communities and in our workplaces.

Acclymation explores these issues within the workplace and the consequence of not embracing diversity. As ABC Publishing struggles to find its identity in a rapidly changing marketplace, its employees are also struggling. Noah, a musician turned manager, struggles to find himself while learning how to be a manager; Diane struggles as she deals with the tragedies of her personal life, and Wendall has to deal with the impact of being a transgender male. Acclymation explores what happens when these characters’ home and work experiences come together in a work environment indifferent to diversity.
