A Perfect Plan

Encompass New Opera Theatre and the After Dinner Opera Company, two of New York’s most longstanding opera companies devoted to new works, presents the world premiere performances of Seymour Barab’s two-act comic opera A Perfect Plan. With music and libretto by Seymour Barab, freely adapted from a play by W.S. Gilbert, A Perfect Plan depicts the complications of young love mixed with gold-digging, leading its seven characters into a madcap farcical maze of rivalry, falsified identities, multiple fiancées and bizarre family reunions.

The musical direction is by Encompass Music Director John Yaffe, and the production is directed by Encompass Artistic Director Nancy Rhodes. The opera is performed with chamber orchestra, Mara Waldman, pianist.
