About This Show

The Drilling Company performs free outdoor Shakespeare in the Parking Lot behind The Clemente (Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center), located at 114 Norfolk Street (east side of Norfolk Street between Delancey and Rivington Streets), just three blocks from the municipal parking lot where the plucky New York cultural attraction started 21 years ago.

This production launches our second season in its current location at 114 Norfolk Street. In the five Shakespeare plays we are producing this summer, all have powerful women and powerful female friendships that are catalysts for the action. In Midsummer Night’s Dream, it’s Hermia and Helena — famous female friends and adversaries, who are both ruled by Titania.
