The Waterloo Bridge Theatre Company opens its new theatre – The Waterloo Bridge Playhouse – with a production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The Bard’s classic comedy gets the Waterloo treatment of breaking the fourth wall and truly bringing the play to the audience. Director J. Brandon Hill throws in a few twists that Shakespeare certainly wasn’t thinking of when he put quill to parchment: a love triangle between Nick Bottom, Peter Quince and Tomasina Snout as well as Puck and one of the Fairy Queen’s handmaidens living a double life as Theseus and Hippolyta.
