I Got Da Beat Productions presents a staged reading of A Case Is Never Closed, a new play written by Jay Boyer and directed by Diana Basmajian.
A Case Is Never Closed is an historic look into the life of Lucille Ball in the era of McCarthyism. During this time in our history, no woman with as high a stature as Lucille Ball had ever been targeted by the House Un-American Activities Committee. In 1953, because of a simple gesture towards her grandfather 20 years prior, all that changed. She was a household name and through the medium of television, millions of people even considered her part of their family. It is through the support of these Americans that she gained the hope to survived it.
There will be a wine & cheese talk-back afterwards.
