About This Show

Repertorio Español presents Vieques, by Jorge González. Set in the 1950s, the play is a family comedy set during the introduction of U.S. military troops on the small island community of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Despite the current controversy on the island involving U.S. military maneuvers, the play does not follow the expected course of political diatribe. What it does do is give a background and feel to the people who live on the island–their hopes and dreams, as well as their triumphs and foibles. Alfredo Galván directs.

The play is performed in Spanish, with simultaneous English translation available.
