New York City
Tartuffe is presented as part of The Young Company: Moliere Cycle, co-produced by Columbia Stages, the producing arm of Columbia University’s School of the Arts Theatre Division, and Classic Stage Company.
Hypocrisy takes center stage in Moliere’s classic tale of a family hoodwinked by a religious zealot whose desires for more immediate “earthly pleasures” belies his pious demeanor. In this world, you’ve got to be on the look out or you just might find yourself “Tartuffified!” Tartuffe is directed by CSC’s artistic director Brian Kulick, a theatre maker The Village Voice wryly notes “loves nothing better than a daring, outrageous risk.”
