A romantic comedy set in modern-day New York City, Strictly Personal follows the comic collision of two people who find themselves back in the dating game after their marriages fail. Dan, a middle-aged Jewish lawyer, stumbles through his return to single life with the help of his close knit group of outspoken friends. His next-door neighbor Lori, also recently divorced, re-enters single life under the supervision of her best friend Louise. Through the badgering support of friends and family, Dan and Lori begrudgingly ease themselves back into the disastrous dating scene with the help of the New York Magazine’s personal ads. The play flirts between Dan and Lori’s individual stories, their dating disasters, lost opportunities, and eventual love.
