About This Show

Presented by Red Road Productions, Michigan Impossible tells the story of Jesse Boyles, a young man who is searching for his racial identity in America. The play begins with Jesse having difficulty with a form that asks him for his race – being part Irish, part Native American (two different tribes!), and part African-American, he understandably has a problems deciding which box to check. What follows is a personal journey from Jesse’s past to his present, as he searches for events in his life that will give him a clue to his “true” racial identity.
